How to: Change Colors in Photographs

Hello

I was asked to do to a tutorial of how I play with colors :))
I wasn't really sure whether to post it on this blog or on my photography blog. But I decided that many (beauty) bloggers could benefit from this tutorial, so I will post it here.

I use Photoshop CS5 Extended <3
So you'll need Photoshop for this tutorial. You can download a free trial Photoshop HERE.

In this tutorial I will show you how to make your images have that vintage look :) Plus this tutorial can be very handy for removing that yellow look from your pictures or to giving your images a vavavoom effect.

ALL IMAGES ARE CLICKABLE!

1. We start with the picture we want to play with and open it in Photoshop.

 2. We open Color Balance (Image>Adjustments>Color Balance)

3. Select Shadow
4. Push the arrow on blue as far as it still looks ok to you

 5. Select Highlights
6. Push the arrow in the yellow area as far as it still looks ok to you :)

7. You can stop here (for an aged look), but you can play a little bit more :D

8.  Select Midtones and play a bit with the Cyan levels

Now I wanted to give it a bit of a vavavoom effect.

9. Open up the Curves window (Images>Adjustments>Curves)

10. Push the upper part just a little but up (that will brighten the image)
and the lower just a tad down (it adds contrast).

The finished image:

Was it easy to understand?
Did you like it?

How To: Gold New Year's Eve Makeup

Hello!
This time I went for a very simple makeup tutorial for all those girls that have no idea what to put on in the last moment :)

1. We start off with a clean base
2. Apply some eye primer or corrector if you don't have oily lids and wait a couple of seconds

3. Than you take your pretty gold eyeshadow and put it all over your eyelid

4. Take a light yellow eyeshadow and put it in your inner eye corners

5. Draw a thicker black line with an eyeliner

6. Add mascara

If you feel like having a gold smokey eyes add a bit of bronze in your outer corners of the eye. Click HERE if you're not sure what do to.

Ta-da! You're done with your eyes! You can pair this look with bold red lips or any other vivid color. That's it. It's very simple but effective.

For a really nice NY look I suggest a nice pair of earrings or a headband :)

I've used:
Eyes: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Sleek Makeup Storm and Sparkle Palette, Essence Black Eyeliner, Bourjois Ultra Black Mascara
Face: Bourjois Bio Detox Organic Foundation, Gosh Bronzer
Lips: Sleek Makeup Pout Polish in Pink Cadillac

How to: Vivid makeup

Hello!
Maybe some of you already know that I LOVE vivid colors :) I was inspired by a gorgeous pink lipstick to do this tutorial.

Usually I start off with my eyes and only after do the rest (foundation, blusher ...) because this way it's easier to clean up what falls on your cheeks (especially with black and glittery eyeshadows).

1. Start with a clean base

2. Apply primer. I use this one, but concealer works good as well

This is the colors you'll need (darker and lighter blue)

And a brush

3. With the brush apply the lighter blue on the lower part of your eyelid

Now take a rounded brush (any other will work as well but you'll need more skill)

4. Apply the darker blue on the upper part of the eyelid and the outer corner.

Take another brush (I'm using a big blending brush)

5. Blend everything (make circular movements from the darker areas to the lighter ones)

Now take a silver shadow

And another brush

6.  Apply the silver shadow on your inner part of the eyelid and under your eyebrow (and blend)

Take an eyeliner. I'm using Eyeko Glitter eyeliner.

7. Apply Eyeliner

You can skip this step if you don't have Lash Primer. I'm using Estee Lauder.

8. Apply Lash Primer

9. Apply mascara

And now one of the more important steps: eyebrows!
10. Use a angled brush and an eyeshadow that is closes to your hair color.

The final look:

Now let's go to the rest of the face.

I use Skin Food BB Cream, Estee Laudren Concealer and for this look Janulence Mineral Powder and Sweetscents Settling Veil.
I think I don't need to explain this step :)

And here is my favourite lipstick! Estee Lauder Pink Vibrations.
I suggest you to use a very vivid color to complement your look.

With such makeup a crazy attitude and hairdo goes great :)

So is anyone brave enough to wear this look out? ;)
