Review and Swatch: Piggy Paint Nail polish and Nail Polish Remover

Hello Lovelies!
Today I received my Piggy Paint polish and Nail Polish Remover to test out. I was really excited as I've heard only good things about them.

What are Piggy Paint nail polishes?
They are natural, non-toxic, odorless and kid-friendly nail polishes.

How to use them?
Check out the picture (way too cute! :)

Ingredients: Water, water-miscible acrylic resins and thickeners (well below 100 parts per million), glycol ethers. May contain mica, D&C red lake, ultramarine blue, iron and titanium oxide pigments

I received Girls Rule! nail polish. It is a pink purple. Actually it's hard to describe this color as it is a purple but with pink undertones and holographic shimmer.

My experience with it: I loved it! It's true that this color is not really my favourite, but the formula is more than amazing! It is very dense but still thick enough so I could get really close to my cuticles (I couldn't go so close with any other polish). The brush is on the softer and longer side, but it works great.
I don't know how else to describe it: it's something you should try to believe it. You get an even application with just one super thin coat! And two coats are opaque and just perfect. There is not any toxic smell (you know that one, that makes you go dizzy) and to be completely honest, when I opened it, it smelled like chocolate to me (no kidding!). I had to smell it a couple of times to realize I was wrong (too bad, but we don't want the kids to eat their nail polish, right?).

Girls Rock! (2 thin coats)

With flash. Notice the pink undertone.

Pros:

+ Non-toxic
+ Odorless
+ Free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone
+ Hypoallergenic
+ The formula and the brush!
+ Many different colors to chose from
+ Water-based formula
++ Cruelty free! (a major plus for me)
+ Safe for use during pregnancy
+ Cute packaging
+ Clever and sweet names

Cons:

- I got some major chips in the first day (without using a top coat).

Overall: Loved it! Even though I got some chips in the first day, it's so easy to apply and it doesn't take too long to dry (on the average side) so that's not a big problem (and with that blow drier technique or a top coat the problem should be solved).

Will I buy again: YES! I want the neons! :)

The price: 8, 99 $

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I also got their Nail polish remover to try.

What they say about it:
Low odor hypoallergenic nail polish remover. Put harmful, smelly polish removers behind you with Piggy Paint™ Nail Polish Remover, a remover that works quickly on all polishes, especially Piggy Paint™ Nail Polish. Our remover contains none of the solvents that could offend your nose or harm our atmosphere. Aloe Vera and Vitamin E are added to supplement the natural oils that protect nails and cuticles.

Ingredients:  Corn alcohol, butyl diglycol, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, embittering agent.

My experience with it: I also tested it today to remove the remains of my previous manicure. It took some more rubbing, but it worked as good as any other nail polish remover plus this one didn't nauseate me or make me light-headed.

Pros:

+ Biodegradable
+ No acetone
+ With aloe vera and vitamin E
+ Didn't dry my cuticles
+ Cute packaging
+ Low odor (unless you smell it from really close, than you can smell the alcohol)
+ Hypoallergenic
+ Doesn't harm the atmosphere

Cons:
- None :)

Overall: I think the idea of a cuticle-friendly and almost odorless nail polish remover is genius!

Will I buy again: YES. It's genious.

Price: 8, 99 $

Where to get: HERE

P. S. The coupon code for 10 % discount on anything on their site (including sale items)  is: XO10L (Expires October 2010)
