Looklet: Three looks (It's super fun!)

I've discovered Looklet! It's super fun! The only down side is, that it has got very little items compared to Polyvore.

Anyway here they are. I love creating outfits that I'd love to wear if I had all the pieces. It's fun. Like dressing barbie but with a wardrobe to die for.

You can find me HERE on Looklet.

Do you like dressing up as well? :D

My latest DIY projects

Lately I've been feeling really creative / bored (call it as you like) and had lots of free time. So I finally did some projects that I've been wanting to do for a while. Here they are (chronologically listed):

1. T-shirt statement necklace.

This one was fairly easy but time consuming with all that bling bling added.

2. Nerd Cat T-shirt

I hated the T-shirt! It's made from elastene and something other elastic as well so it was a pain in the *ass* to draw on it. Plus I didn't have my x-acto knife with me so I had to freehand it!

3. Karl Who? T-shirt.
A really easy one and yes I know that the origninal is white with black or blue writing.

4. Headband.

5. Flower brooches.

6.  Necklace with black flower brooch.

7. A shopping bag (this one went a little bit wrong).

How was your weekend? Creative or not?

Parisky's Dream: Sea in Moonlight

Hello Dear Followers!
I've been frankenpolishing again! :D This time I did 3 frankenpolishes. One of them is currently on my nails and is THE most amazing blue I own. It has got blue glitter, it has got holographic glitter, it has got flakies and it has got shimmer. Let me present you my Sea in Moonlight frankenpolish.  Why Sea in Moonlight? Because sea in moonlight is mysterious and it sparkles here and there. Sea in moonlight is just breathtaking (just as this nail polish). Enjoy the pictures.

Isn't it gorgeous?

P.S. Thank you Elchy (click to visit her blog)  for the empty bottles! :*

NOTD: Essence Into the Wild Zulu

Hello Dears!

Today I'll show you Essence (02) Zulu from the Trend Edition Into the Wild. This color is something between gray and brown. I've seen some blogger pictures in the past (and recently) and I loved them (and that was the main reason I bought it) but I really really hate it on my nails. It is supposed to dry matte but it dries satin. See for yourself:

Here I did a comparison with Essie Matte About You top coat, so that you could see how matte is supposed to look like. Matte top coat on my index and ring finger:

But I really wasn't convinced with the color so I did a sponge manicure on top of it with Essence (01) Desert Fox from the same collection.

Naah ... still not convinced. I did a konadicture on top of it with Essence Twins Romeo. The combo was almost invisible and I hated it.

So I layered Sinful Colors (921) All About You. All About You is a transparent nail polish with loads of gold glitter that changes color to green and some bigger pieces of orange glitter.

It looked so much prettier with this layer of glitter! I even got some compliments. Anyway I still hate it. It must be because it's too brown for me (I dislike brown color).

And what about you? What is your least favourite color?

OOTD: Day and Evening

Time for another OOTD (outfit of the day)! I felt like finally wearing something new (finally!) and I put on those lovely shorts from my latest hauls and a basic shirt. I think it came out lovely and the girls & boys tough that as well :D

(you can click the images to make them bigger)

I know that white flats would got better with it but I had a black bag .... Does anyone know where could I get a cute white bag? I went to H&M and they have nothing!

Wearing:
Random Shirt
H&M shorts
Necklace (got as a present)
Zara flats
H&M headband
And silver vintage bracelet

At the evening we had to go to the grocery and since it was raining cats and dogs outside (and it got colder, 10 degrees Celsius colder) I went for skinny jeans, that new T-shirt and cardigan.
Hah, I had to cut my head of as I was making a sh** face :P

Wearing:
H&M T-shirt, cardigan, skinny jeans
Adidas shoes

Do you want to see more OOTD's?

NOTD: Essence Heart Chakra + Catrice I Scream Peach

Today I'll show you my latest haul on nails: Essence Into the Wild Heart Chakra. It's a gorgeous pink-orange jelly. It took me 3 coats.

This color is very camera-shy s I had to Photoshop it to get at least a similar color as it is in real life.

Of course I couldn't let it just like that so I did a sponge manicure on top of it with Catrice I Scream Peach. Lovely :D

OOTD: Polka dots

I haven't done an OOTD for a long long time. Just because I dressed like nothing special and because I was always in a hurry and couldn't take pictures.

But finally here is a simple (and cuteish) outfit I wore for shopping.
Heh pardon me for the awkward poses but as it seems I can pose in a photosession I get really awkward in OOTD's pictures :P I guess it's just that this pictures are always taken in such a hurry that I can't even come up with an interesting pose.

Huh, this time at least I tried :P

Dress: can't remember, but at least 2 years old.
Shoes: Newyorker flats
Accessories: flower ring and headband from H&M

14 June World Blood Donor Day

Hello!

This post isn't about beauty related products but it's about doing something beautiful for your community.

Today 14 June is the World Blood Donor Day. It's a day that promotes blood donation as it is a known fact that there are fewer blood donors than users.
Because it's a World Blood Donor day there are events happening all over the World to raise awareness.

In America there is this "Give" Donation Initiative that promotes awareness.

Some facts about blood donation in America and about "Give" Initiative:

Many Americans consider giving blood to be an important act of community service, however, less than 10 percent donate on an annual basis. Incredibly, if just one percent more donated–less than four million Americans–the nation’s blood shortages would disappear for the foreseeable future. To help close this gap, Nexcare Brand and America’s Blood Centers are partnering on the second annual give program, a nationwide blood donation initiative kicking off on World Blood Donor Day, Monday, June 14th, and extending through Sunday, June 20th.

With the support of hundreds of participating local blood centers, the give program inspires Americans with a message of hope, and helps them to spread the word by distributing limited-edition Nexcare Bandages marked with the word give.

World Blood Donor Day comes at an important time each year. As local blood centers face “summer shortages,” the nation’s blood supply comes under strain due to less donations because of increased vacation schedules and other seasonal distractions that tend to take place in the summer months. World Blood Donor Day reminds Americans to donate and enables them to help make a impact in reducing these shortages.

The 2010 give Bandages are inspired by both the patriotic act of giving blood as well as Flag Day, which will also be recognized on June 14, 2010.  This collection of three Nexcare bandages are designed to represent the American flag signify the everyday hero in each American who commits to saving lives by donating blood.

Additionally, there’s a dedicated website, www.nexcaregive.com, where visitors can share their story, get directions to our local blood center and register to receive coupons and a free sampling of bandages.

Did You Know? Facts About Blood Donation
·         One pint of blood can save up to three lives
·         Every two seconds, someone needs blood
·         Most Americans will require a blood transfusion at some point in their lives
·         Less than 10% of Americans donate blood on an annual basis
·         If one percent more Americans gave blood, all national blood shortages would disappear for the foreseeable future
·         There is no substitute for human blood
·         Donors can give whole blood up to six times a year

Hopefully this has inspired someone as well to donate blood today. It certainly did me (and I am frightened of needles as I always get a huge bruise on my hand).

You can get some additional information HERE.
And HERE to see last year's blood donation reports by country.

Latest Haul

I finally got everything else I need (except for the cute high waisted frilly skirt).

I got 2 identical skirts

A long summer dress (dark blue)

Some cute T-shirts

 Basic spaghetti-strapped shirts (and a tacky one ... )

Leggings:

And they also gave me a cute bracelet:

Than we went (yes, again) to DM for some self-tanning lotion (Xen-tan rocks but I wanted to try something cheaper). And I also found 2 Essence nail polishes from their Into the Wild collection. :)
I've tried this self-tanning lotion and it works just fine :) It absorbs instantly and has a really nice smell (unlike some other expensive self-tanners).

Now I'm done with hauling for at least a month ... or so.
