How to: Get Rid of Acne

Hello!
I've been wanting to write this how to for ages now!

I know how it looks like when you have acne. Actually I never had severe acne, because I was taking the pill for most of my teenage life. Even then I had an occasional pimple or two and that was it. At that time I was trying various anti-acne stuff and none actually worked. Than I discovered jojoba oil and Sweetscents Green Tea Overnight Skin Rejuvenation. The first one helped me with the oiliness and the clogged pores and become my holy grail, while the second one helped me dry my existing acne. This cure worked great for a couple of years, my skin was almost perfect :)

But. Than I got adult acne. O.o

The pill didn't do a thing for them, jojoba oil stopped working, healthy food and exercises already were my staple and I was desperate!
So I started digging into this issue deeper and deeper. I found out that adult acne is a common problem and we're all desperate!

So this is a short list of advices what can help you when you have a couple of pimples or severe acne.

 --------------------------------------

1. Read the labels. Especially on your cosmetics, makeup ... Why?  Lots of products have comedogenic (block pores) ingredients. So learn what ingredients are comedogenic and cause acne. Some ingredients lists are HERE HERE, and HERE.

2. Jojoba oil. It works miracles. Enough said :) You'll have to get used to the oily feeling at first, but it's definitely worth it. In winter use another oil on top of it (like almond oil), because jojoba oil isn't very moisturising per se in the winter. More about jojoba oil HERE.

3. Apple cider vinegar + water as a tonic. It's great! I love apple cinder vinegar, so the smell doesn't bother me (I love it). I've been using it for two months now and the results are amazing! You'll notice the first results very soon!

Acne Home Remedy Using Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is an effective natural agent that cures acne by killing the bacteria and balancing our skin's pH level (which is a measure of acidity). It also absorbs excessive oil from our skin, which is a leading cause of acne.
  • Dilute the Apple Cider Vinegar in water by one part of vinegar and 3 to 4 parts of water.
  • Apply the solution directly to your skin with clean cotton, and leave it there for about ten minutes.
  • After ten minutes, rinse off the vinegar.
  • Repeat this three times a day. For severe cases of acne, the solution can be used overnight without rinsing.
For more severe acne, the water ratio can also be reduced to 2 or 3 parts per one part of vinegar, but this stronger solution should not be left on overnight.

4. Cold Water. Yup, you've read it right. I don't know why or how, but washing your face with cold water (with your face wash) really works. Just try it. You've got nothing to loose.

5. Oil Cleansing Method. It's simple, it takes 5 minutes and even if you don't have acne, it makes your skin softer, free of clogged pores and glowing. Read more HERE.

That's it from my side. I really suggest you to try removing your cosmetics one per one, so you'll be able to see which one is causing you troubles. And to really see some effect from apple cider vinegar, cold water, jojoba oil, or anything else, I suggest you to test it for 2 weeks and than you'll see if it works for you or not.

Right now I'm using:
 1. A face wash that is supposed to help with your pimples  (called Black Magic) + cold water
2. Apple cider vinegar diluted in water (1:3) as a tonic
3. jojoba oil + almond oil (I'm having really dry skin in some areas)

aaaaand when I remember (or don't feel lazy) I do an occasional oil cleansing.
+ use the green the overnight skin rejuvenation on existing pimples

My skin isn't perfect, but I'm getting there.
Hope you'll get there too :)

P.S. I'm not an expert, this are just the things that work for me.

How to: Take Care of Your Lips

Hi!
Today I will talk about a really important topic, especially in the middle of winter.

When I do makeup on other people I often see dry, chapped lips. That really annoys me because:
1. I have to do extra work to make a lipstick look decent
2. It's so easy to take care of your lips and it only takes a minute per day!

So, once you'll read this blog post you'll have no excuses!

If your lips are already in terrible condition use a bit of honey mixed bit a tiny bit of sugar. Put this paste on your lips and leave it there for 15 minutes, than scrub it away.

Honey

+ Sugar

= amazing lips mask & peeling

The honey nourishes your lips and the sugar helps with the exfoliation.

Than you definitely should use a good lip balm to keep some moisture in your lips.
Currently I'm using Extravaganja  Lip Cream, but Vaseline should do the trick as well (or any other that you feel does the job).

If you have some persisting chapping problems try exfoliating your lips with an old (soft) toothbrush once in a while.

Jojoba oil or any other oil will also help your lips to be healthy and soft (use it after exfoliating or just when you remember about it).

That's it :)

No more excuses, OK? :)

My top ten products so far

Hello lovelies!

Lately I've been thinking what are my top products I have ever used?
I came out with a top ten list. Here it is:

10. Vaseline

Actually I never knew it was so useful until I found this page (50 uses of Vaseline). This product really is amazing and the very important thing it is non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores)! I use it every time after I take a shower on my feet (I apply a generous amount) and put on socks over night or just for a couple of hours. It leaves your feet smooth an soft. I use it for my lips, dry skin and on my cuticles.
And what's the biggest plus? It's cheap!

9. Anti-spot body spray by Essence

I've been using this for months now :) It really helps and it is much much cheaper than Clinique Acne Solutions Body Treatment Spray (a really short name :P) and it does exactly the same plus it doesn't smell so artificially. Actually I did a review of it a while ago. Here.

8. Curls Rock Curl Amplifier from Tigi

I have curls and curls tend not to stay on their place and to get nods. This baby really helps to give your hair that va-va-voom effect and extra pretty curls :)

7. False Lash Effect mascara from Max Factor

I have written everything about it in a previous review. Here. I still love it! :)

6. 88 matte palette from Coastal Scents

I love love love it! If you don't know which shade to get just buy this palette and you've got it all :) It has got 88 shades of different pigmentation. Some of them tend to expire very quickly in my crease but other can stay on my eyes for more than 12 hours! I got this palette last year and since than I did not look at any other new eyeshadow (because with this palette you almost don't need it). And another plus? It's only 19 $ :)

5. Ultimate Brow kit from Wet n wild

Before this kit I was using Dior powder eyebrow pencil and I was loving it. But than I saw a review of this kit and decided to give it a try. After that I stopped using Dior pencil. Why? Well there was nothing wrong with that pencil but it was just a shade (or two) too dark for my eyebrows. This kit is supposed to be for brunettes & blondes but in reality it can get really dark (sometimes too dark for my eybrows to look natural). But still the brush is just amazing and you can control the amount of color you get on your brows. If they get too dark (that happens quite a lot to me) you just sweap off the excess (gently). This kit comes with wax, a lighter shade for blondes, a darker one for brunettes, a pair of tweezers, a brush and a mirror. It's small and handy plus it's really cheap compared to Dior :D

4. BB cream from Skinfood

I got this one after my sister tried it out. It smells like lime grass and it covers up most of your imperfections. It's like foundation mixed with cram but it's good for your skin :) It is a whitening, anti-wrinkle cream and it has got SPF 20 :) If this is the first time you're hearing about this. It really helps your acne to go away and leaves your skin glowing. I did a review here.

3. Green tea overnight skin rejuvenating from Sweetscents

I was told about this one too by my sister :D It dries out your acne. It is a miracle product! You leave it on overnight and by morning your pimple is gone or at least half gone. And that is something! Here is the Sweetscents page that explains this product.

2. Essie Good to Go

An essential product for anyone who does their manicures at home! It really dries out your nail polish super fast :) No more smudging and ruining your precious fresh manicure!

1. Jojoba oil

I love it, no j'adore it! It's my Holy Grail :D This is really the best EVER product I've EVER tired! It's multipurpose and it's natural! I use it instead of my cream (this winter has made my skin extra sensitive and every cream irritates it), for my hands, on my dried hair (it's better that Tigi Curl's Rock Curl Amplifier - and it's natural) and as a makeup remover (just a few drops and everything goes away). Read more here.

That's all girls! :)
I will do all the missing reviews of this products so expect some (quite) soon :)

P.S. Most of the pictures were found on the web (except for Anti-body spray, False Lash Effect, Green tea overnight ... and jojoba oil)

What is your Holy Grail product?
